British ambassador and Metro’s meeting

On Monday, July 15, the organizer of Metro Center visited the British Consulate in Erbil and met with the British Ambassador to Iraq, Stephen Hitchen.

Sitting down with Mr. Stephen, who was a big fan of their team at the Euro tournament, covers a variety of topics, from sports to journalism to other topics. Mr. Stephen is particularly interested in the media. He has a media program called (Safir show) the Ambassador Show.

"I'm happy to see you for the first time, and I'm sad about the final result of your team, which played better than Spain at the end of the Euro and lost,” I told him.

"Our team is one of the strongest teams in football history. In the golden age of David Peckham, Michael Owen, Rooney and Lampard, we have reached the final but haven't won the title, Since the 1966 World Cup, he has been a strong contender for the title in most tournaments but has never succeeded.

The meeting was about to turn into a sports discussion. I saved myself and went into the subject of Metro Center and its work.

He followed the work of Metro Center, its reports and positions with great interest. He was eager to hear about the situation of journalists and the opportunities and obstacles facing freedom of the press.

I thanked him for the warm welcome and promised to meet with the Metro team on his next visit to Sulaimani.
