Metro Center and the Press Board of the (PUK) will coordinate more with the aim of stopping violations against journalists and ending the phenomenon of impunity and expanding the spirit of solidarity among journalists, spaces of freedom of press and opinion.
Today, November 6, the team of Metro Center received a delegation from the Media Board of the (PUK) Latif Nerwayi, member of the leadership and membership, Karwan Anwar, Tanya Kamal Darwish, Arian Mohammed, Ata Karim.
The meeting discussed several important topics such as the situation of freedom of expression and journalism in the Kurdistan Region and the coverage and perspective of the political media for the problems and conflicts after the elections in the Kurdistan Region.
Both sides agreed that violence against journalists in all its forms is unacceptable and must end throughout the region and that the perpetrators must not escape punishment and encourage a spirit of solidarity among journalists, expanding the spaces of freedom of the press and opinion.
Regarding political media coverage in this context, both sides stressed the need to combine professional ethics with any news and information and to end insults against women.
