Dana Abdulkarim, Minister of Reconstruction and Housing described transparency and providing information to citizens and the media as the main condition for building a democratic society and expressed his support for the goals that Metro is working on.
Dana Abdulkarim, Minister of Reconstruction and Housing, during a visit and meeting at the Metro Center, which was held today, August 18, 2024, at the head office of Metro.
At the beginning of the visit, the coordinator of Metro Center expressed his pleasure of his visit and briefly discussed the current situation of the media due to the political division and the early election campaign, as well as the mechanisms of security institutional violence and the institutional treatment of information and its law.
The director of Metro Center and the coordinator of Network 19 also discussed the most important stages of activities and monitoring the situation of freedom of press and expression.
Dana Abdulkarim, Minister of Reconstruction and Housing welcomed the meeting and said that the existence of democratic life is linked to the free exchange of information and transparency. For comprehensive progress, we need freedom of access and then free dissemination of information, especially that of the government and its institutions. They are essentially classified as "public information”, except when there are legitimate reasons, as provided for in the Right to Information Act.
