A delegation from Metro Center in the Dead Sea, Jordan, participates in the ARIJ Conference, the largest annual event for independent media in the Arab world, held under the slogan "Journalism without restrictions.
Inviting Metro Center to this annual event is important for Metro both to build bridges of communication and to become familiar with the mechanisms of censorship and restrictions on journalism in the region.
Three days full of sensitive and significant issues. Friday's debates focused on the post-Gaza war, restrictions on freedom of expression, the impact of new technologies, climate change and environmental media, artificial intelligence between trust and technology and how to protect journalistic standards The elections as well as the Fundamentalist Journalism Awards ceremony, all were held.
The conference is an opportunity to build bridges between journalists, Arab and international media outlets, technology companies, universities and colleges, especially media teachers and students, lawyers, decision makers, diplomats, researchers and thinkers, with the aim of improving the ability of media workers.
ARIJ is also an opportunity to train and upgrade the professional level of journalists and their information auditors, so that they can play their monitoring role in order to consolidate the principles of democracy, transparency, accountability, and the rule of law in a region that is the most dangerous for the work of journalists of both genders.
