Stop the hate against
the minority
Sulaymaniyah, February
24th 2024, Metro Center is concerned with the hate campaign against the
minority, which a few days after the decision of the federal court to cancel
the minority chairs, is promoted, Metro also asks the Kurdistan community to
not be a part of this campaign.
After the Federal
Court described the existence of 11 Kurdish regional elections as
unconstitutional the parties similar to the other
lists participate in the elections with separate lists in social
media, attacks on the minorities in the Kurdistan Region are clearly
promoted to the level of hatred against them.
National and religious
minorities were respected in the Kurdish community, in a spirit of
tolerance peaceful living overcoming hatred extremism، and intimidation.
Metro Center is
concerned about the campaign of hatred against minorities calling on the
Kurdish community to shame the campaign and not be part of the media and
political discourse that promotes hate against the national and religious
minorities in the Kurdistan Region.
Metro distinguishes
political criticism of the minority ratio from the campaign of
hatred stressing that "excessive expressions of some opponents of the
minority ratio and even its supporters have encouraged the revolutionary
fighters to carry out these attacks."
The federal court's
decision to abolish the national and religious minorities should be an occasion
for constructive political debate, and not an event of hatred against the
structures that represent the color of our community.
