Civilians are not protected by international law or their government
Sulaimani, July 12, 2024: Metro Center strongly condemns the targeting of Chira TV and Chira FM teams and civilians and calls on international organizations to put pressure on the Turkish government to keep the fire of war away from those who are not involved in the war
On July 8, Turkish air force targeted journalists from Chira TV and Chira FM in the community of Tel Qasabi in Sinjar.
In the attack on the employees of Chira TV and Chira FM, (Media Hassan Kamal, Murad Mirza Braim, Khalaf Khaider) were injured, Murad Mirza, a reporter for Chira TV and Chira FM, died during surgery in a hospital in Mosul due to his injuries.
At least 11 civilians have been killed and nine others injured in Turkish bombings since the beginning of this year. Both the Iraqi and Kurdistan Regional Governments are playing the role of just watchers.

The Turkish army's air and ground attacks
The 1949 Geneva Conventions, which provide for the protection of fundamental human rights in times of war and occupation, the protection of civilian lives on the battlefield and the rights of those who are not involved in the outbreak of war, have not been respected.
