October 27, 2013, Kurdistan Region: Metro Center for Defending Journalists’ Rights states that attacking Shaswar Abdulwahid, the owner of the Nalia Company is an organized operation of a trained band, calling for a serious investigation and its perpetrators should be tried. 

On Saturday evening, October 26, 2013, unknown gunmen wounded the owner of Nalia Company and Nalia TV Channel outside Chavy Amusement Park, north of the city of Sulaimaniayh.  

 

The director of the Metro Center visited the wounded owner of the company in hospital. He is fortunately in stable condition and was discharged from hospital. 

Shooting of the owner of Nalia Company occurred outside a crowded tourist site, which is supposed to enjoy tight security measures, is a dangerous signal of a security gap, that is unacceptable, Metro Center said in a statement.  

The nature of the attack on Shaswar Abdulwahid shows that it was a planned assault and its perpetrators are trained. Metro Center denounces the attack on the owner of the Nalia Company, calling for a serious investigation and its perpetrators should be tried.
